Key Features: The SF121 wireless SoundFeeder is a multi-purpose stereo transmitter suitable for use with many types of portable audio equipment. The most popular applications include use with MP3 players, Pocket PC handhelds (Compaq iPaq, Casio Cassiopeia, HP Jornada), Franklin eBookman™, Portable CD and cassette players, computers, and more.
Q. Why SoundFeeder and not the traditional Cassette Type Adapter?
A. SoundFeeder provides far more options than the traditional audio cassette-type CD adapters that tend to become noisy over time. While the cassette type adapters may produce similar sound quality, they are becoming less and less compatible with many of the in-dash CD and FM stereos found in newer vehicles. The SoundFeeder adapter operates by transmitting the audio signal through a blank channel on the car's FM radio.
Q. How does it work?
A. The SoundFeeder's audio cord plugs into the headphone jack of your respective consumer electronic audio device (e.g. MP3 player, Pocket PC, Multimedia PDA, Portable CD or Cassette player, etc.) Then, you simply tune your car's radio to a blank station on the FM band between 88 - 95MHz and tune the SoundFeeder into that frequency. Your music or other audio will then be transmitted wirelessly through the radio in stereo.
Q. How does this model differ from the Arkon SF120 and SF100 SoundFeeders?
A. The SF121 is quite similar to the SF120 in that both devices are wireless battery operated audio adapters. The SF120 has a telescoping antenna and a broader range on the FM of 88 - 108MHz
The SF100 is a great mobile audio solution for use with portable CD players. It features a DC power cord that can power your portable CD or cassette device. This power feature IS NOT made for use with handheld computers due to the complex charging system of the iPaq and Cassiopeia. It does however work with nearly all PORTABLE CD and CASSETTE Players operating at 3, 4.5, or 6V.
Pocket PC and Multimedia PDA users may want to consider the top of the line Pocket PC Multimedia Mounts.
